Bird Watching

A forest bird never wants a cage

Bird watching is a popular activity in Chitwan National Park due to its rich diversity of resident and migratory bird species. Taking a walk through the bushes or along the Rapti River during early morning or afternoon hours, visitors can observe a variety of colourful birds. Some rare species, such as the Giant Hornbill, Asian Paradise Flycatcher, Crested Serpent Eagle, and Pied Hornbill, are summer visitors that migrate from Sri Lanka and can also be spotted. Additionally, seasonal birds can often be seen in the park.
